On Tuesday July 30th, the kingdom of Morocco celebrated the 20th Anniversary of the Accession to the Throne of King Mohammed VI, who suceeded his later father King Hassan II, dead in 1999. In Washington, the country’s Ambassador to the United States, Princess Lalla Joumala Alaoui, welcomed hundreds of guests to reflect on the event.
The function took place at The Hall of the America’s, a Haut-Lieu in the nation’s capital. Attendees included US givernement officials and legislators, diplomats from several countries, business leaders and all those interested in development in Morocco, the first country to officially recognize the independence of the United States in 1777.
There was fun, food, entertainment, speeches and Photo op. In her remarks, Ambassador Alaoui said this about her country and its relations with the rest of the world. Video
The Trump administration was represented by the Department of Health and Human Services’ Secretary Alex Azar who hailed the in-depth strategic partnership between the two countries. Video
